The editor of the journal is responsible for the scientific quality of the journal, just as the authors are responsible for the scientific quality of their article. The editors and reviewers look for and accept articles that contribute to the field of knowledge, that communicate ideas clearly and that follow the style standards (Vancouver). The reasons for which the editors and reviewers reject an article from the first instance are:

  • The article does not fit the publication (in terms of subject, line, approach).
  • The article is speculative, it does not have scientific quality.
  • The theoretical basis is not strong enough.
  • The methodology is weak.
  • The data analysis is poor.
  • It does not make a substantial contribution to knowledge.
  • It is not a "rounded" text, i.e., there is no congruence and fluidity throughout the sections.
  • It is not written correctly or does not present the specifications requested by the publication.
